Marabana is the most popular marathon in Cuba. It features a marathon (42k), a half marathon (21k), and a 10k race circuit along the historical sights of Old Havana.
This year, the marathon will be held during Nov 16 – 19 starting at 7 am in front of the Capitol. Open championships are available in Marabana and everyone’s invited –whether you’re an amateur or a seasoned runner.
Award medals are available for the first three winners from the masculine and feminine categories for the three races: Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k. There’ll be three separate awards for each race involving any runners with disabilities that finish the race at the first place.
These three days are of utmost importance for the Cuban sport and Havana, as November 18 will be the national day of physical culture and sport is and the Foundation of the Villa of San Cristóbal de La Habana, alongside its proclamation by UNESCO as world heritage.
